Reporting a bug
The quickest way to get a fix is to include:
- 01What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- 02The diagnostics from the app: choose Help › Copy Diagnostics to Clipboard and paste the result into your email. It includes version information and nothing about your diagrams.
- 03If the problem is with a particular diagram, the smallest piece of PlantUML source that shows it.
Common questions
What does it run on?
macOS 13 Ventura or later on a Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later). Intel Macs are not supported.
Do I need to install anything else?
No. PlantUML and a Java runtime are built into the app, and layout uses Smetana, PlantUML’s built-in port of Graphviz, so there is no Graphviz to install either. Diagrams are drawn on your Mac, never on a server.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Drawing, editing and everything else you do in the app work without a network connection.
Where are my diagrams?
In the folders you chose when you created or opened a project. Diagrams are plain .puml files and pages are .md files. The app keeps a few hidden marker files so it can recognise project folders; deleting the app does not affect your files.
Can I open diagrams made elsewhere?
Yes. Add a folder as a project, or paste a PlantUML URL with File › New from PlantUML URL and the diagram opens as a new unsaved tab. The link is decoded on your Mac.
The preview shows an error
The last good picture stays on screen while you type, and the line with the problem is marked in the editor. Fix the line and the preview catches up. If a diagram that works elsewhere fails here, send it to us.
What is Agent Access?
An optional local server that lets an AI coding assistant you already use, such as Claude Code, create and update diagrams in your workspace. Off by default. It listens only on your Mac and requires the token the app issues. The app itself contains no AI.

Refunds
Purchases are handled by Apple. If the app is not for you, request a refund from Apple within 14 days at reportaproblem.apple.com.
No account, no analytics, no tracking. The only data the app sends from your Mac is a crash or hang report, without diagram contents.
